 May 28, 2008 - first "Circle Day"

Got the idea from "The Diamond Cutter"

No work on Wed

Meditate, cook, exercise, enjoyments

Let your mind wander

stuff to play with-

meditate, walk, study, art/sketching, cook, eat, write, read, exercise, lunch w/friend, explore, nap, play games (online or offline), ride my motorcycle, organize pictures, massage/bodywork...

Summary day plan from "The Diamond Cutter"

it involves taking one day off a week, just to be. The first half of the Circle day, up until 2p is to be spent by yourself, alone, in silence. Here's how it goes:

  1. Create a quite place.
  2. Sit in silence there for an hour to an hour and a half.
  3. Afterward, do some light exercise.
  4. Before you eat your first meal, sit quietly for a time and read some kind of thoughtful book about the higher meaning of your life.
  5. After a light lunch, take a nap, if you feel like it.
  6. Later in the afternoon, do some kind of practical study such as learning photograph or gardening to be exposed to creativity and excellence.
  7. In the evening, make a conscious effort to get out and help somebody, at anything.
  8. At the end of the day, as you get close to going to bed, head back to your quiet place for more silent time.
