Design Values

Many companies have visions and "values" - integrity, customer service...blah blah blah.  They usually aren't very well designed.  A great vision and set of values (or 'design values') helps a person or team make better decisions when decisions need to be made.

Example (for a project)

Vision:
  • "Design a sales process (and associated tools) that helps our sales reps be more productive and improves the client experience."
Design Values:
  • Useful (reps should love it, since it will help them sell more)
  • Intuitive (easy to use, both for the rep and customer)
  • Transparent (we should be able to share this with a prospect, which would further help the process)

Example (for a Zeus Logos):
Vision:
  • "Connect and inspire the world's creative lightning"

Design values:
  • Fun & interesting (for all parties: the company, community and clients)
  • Employee success (if our employees are successful, our clients will be too)
  • Transparency (when in doubt, share information internally or with the community)
