Vipassana PebbleStorm notes

Page history last edited by Aaron Ross 1 year, 4 months ago

These were a whole bunch of notes I wrote to myself during my 10 day vipassana retreat in late 2008...

PebbleStorm: a path to happiness.

There is “make money”, but if your motivation is purely money, you will not be happy.  PebbleStorm’s purpose will not be served.  You must enjoy what you, and make money “through enjoyment,” enjoyment at the root level.

Money will not make you happy

Conditions to be successful with PebbleStorm

-    Looking for happiness not mooney

-    5 precepts / shila

-    intoxicants cloud your mind.  I personally of all the people I know who use intoxicants aren’t ready.  Roots are polluted

-    mentally stable

-    remove cloudiness

-    ego

Sources of unhappiness

-    cravings & aversions

-    comparison to others

“Dream Work”

Natural Images (rocks, rivers, trees, mountains, sun, clouds, sky, birds, sunset, lily pads…)

Mountains: local tops vs everest

Tree image: 4 levels of happiness

Lake image: keep diving for unique genius, past layers of ego

PebbleStorm CEOFlow: “modern path of enlightenment”

Three Circles:

1 Revenue growth / work success (desired results)

2 Self-managing systems

3 Enlightenment

(wrapped by sharing, community)

(first get business results you want, then make the system self-managing, to create space for you to find inner peace and happiness…and give back)

1. feed your ego, 2. Create space, 3. Find enlightenment, 4. Share

EGOLESSNESS

Removing barriers to sharing circles

-    no fees

-    no bank account…

-    What are the barriers to awareness, adoption, practice?

PebbleStorm: bridge to enlightenment (from shore of ego to shore of happiness)

First feed the ego, so it’s not as much of a hungry beast

Create an environment conducive to inner work, to find liberation

Unique Genius:

-    Simpler is better

-    Inspiring to you

-    Meaningful to others

Dream biz – you’re on track when you’re so excited to give it away you hesitate to charge

A practice must change:

Awareness

Attitude

Actions

Else the purpose is not served

Hard work of PebbleStorm:

Patience

Commitment

Persistence

Reality –getting real

Letting go of ego – would you rather be right or happy

Genuine intent

Help with email, weekly:

-    linked in, plaxo, applications to SFDC groups, clear out mass email, move anything left over to Friday, or to simmer

As success puffs your ego, you have to spend as much time deflating your ego

(image of wind going into a balloon labeled ego)

what should be developing…gratitude, selfless service

Great notes and I love the summary about 'Friends & Enemies of Pebblestorm', resonates with me.
I would like to learn and understand more about the 'sharing circles' and no fees, no bank account and barriers to adoption and practice.
